In general, microneedling is appropriate for all skin tones and types. Since the skin injuries created are so small, there are very few side effects after the treatment. Microneedling can be performed on most areas of skin, including the arms, face, neck, chest, and legs. Microneedling is not recommended if you’ve been on Accutane recently, or if you have an open wound, active skin infection, or herpes simplex. Additionally, you may not be able to get microneedling if you’re pregnant, nursing, or undergoing radiation treatments.
